Mar 23, 2007, Busted - Student Loan Companies Under the Microscope

News Alert!

Andrew Cuomo, New York State Attorney General, is suing California college loan company, Education Finance Partners for deceptive business practice.

We're talking illegal kickbacks to schools that put EFP at the top of the preferred lender's list. Some lenders sent college financial aid officers on sweet vaykays - all expenses paid - for the privilege of "servicing" their loans.

Whoa. Kick me, pinch me, wake me up! Isn't this what all the schools and lenders are doing? Jumping into bed with each other to er... oh wait... somewhere the students are there too, cuz we are the ones getting screwed.

Why Cuomo is picking on San Francisco based, EFP is a mystery, but he's got to start somewhere. Let's hope this isn't just a shark fest over the 85 billion dollar student loan pie.

Why should students eat beans while their financial "aid" officers are drinking martinis on some white sand, Fijian beach? I ask you. (Now, I know why they never answer their phones.)

Cuomo's office is probing the following lenders - Sallie Mae, Nelnet Inc., EFP, EduCap, the College Board, CIT Group -

My lender is on that list... is yours?

Mar 9, 2007, Newt Gingrich vs. Bill Clinton - Fight Tonight

Tonight at Five, "Gingy Hyprocrit" Gingrich takes on "Billy Glint" Clinton as they square off on the biggest venue this year "WHO LET MY DOGS OUT".

It remains to be seen who will take home the Gillette 2000 Championship. Both Billy and Gingy have the stats to back a win.

Neither admit to being a hypocrite or even to understanding what exactly that means, but each tells his own story when it comes to the big question..."Did you have sexual relations with that woman."

Billy prefers the finger shaking distraction method and the "no means yes" backwards hammer flip. Gingy likes to bring it on full forward and disdains the finger shaking and the flipping. "No distraction techniques for me" he says. "I did it. I liked it."

More on the Family Values channel later... stay tuned...
