Online High School Free to any Minnesota resident aged 20 or younger who is ready for 10th, 11th or 12th grade course work. Easy, quick, online enrollment. You do NOT have to go through your local school to enroll. Just come on board, folks. Combine online classes with onsite classes at your local school or take all of your classes online. Home schoolers are welcome. (Did I mention, FREE) Minnesota Online High School is one of the recipients of the Minnesota Education Finance Award. They definitely have their act together and it shows. Their website is great looking, and easy to navigate. They also offer support services such as career planning, college planning, social activities with other students and academic advising. They encourage parents to stay involved and offer them resources for checking their students progress. Their course catalog is a little skimpy for such a great program, but I'm sure they're working on that. (They do offer the option of moving directly into college course work, once you've completed the basics.) All you other online high schools... sit up and pay attention! Minnesota is doing something right here. Imitate the great!
